It is a pleasure to compliment the SAPS on the following matter.
Early in the morning (approx 04:30) on 12 August, a criminal entered our guest house and stole a laptop from our reception desk.
Although we have security cameras, identification was difficult since he was wearing a scarf around his face and socks over his hands.
We called the SAPS and Constables Baron and Fortuin from the Malmesbury SAPS were there in minutes.
They searched one of the guest rooms and vehicles without success. But after leaving, shrewd police judgment induced these constables to turn back immediately and continue their investigation.
They were successful and by 10:00 had identified and arrested a male suspect in Malmesbury. The laptop was found in his possession before it could be sold.
