Two woman attacked in Greyton

Two women were attacked in Greyton this morning.

Two women were attacked in Greyton this morning.

A member of “Greyton Matters”, one of the town’s Facebook groups, said the women were attacked when on their way into the Krige Forest.

The member said the suspect was described as a young male with short hair who was wearing a red and purple shirt. He was seen coming out of the forest under the Gobos Bridge and then headed towards Vlei Street.

LRV Security owner Niël Burger said both women were treated by a local doctor.  He said: “One was given the all-clear to go home, but the other was transferred to Somerset West for further tests.” Burger said a cyclist, Shaun Lourens, had come across the women and called LRV Security. The armed-response guard, John Baadjies, responded immediately. Burger informed the police, who arrived shortly afterwards. They, in turn, summoned Red Cross members who transported the women to the doctor.

A R5 000 reward has been issued for any information that will lead to an arrest.
