Slipper Day is Reach For A Dream’s most celebrated fundraiser and is scheduled to take place next month (May).
Reach For A Dream has previously been supported by industry giants Wimpy, Dis-Chem Pharmacies and Pick ’n Pay for its largest annual fundraiser.
With two new partners this year, TOYZONE and Baby City coming on board, the foundation intends to reach more South Africans.
This fun initiative is geared to every single South African, any age and in any industry, from schools and corporates to individuals. Last year, over R6 million was generated and all funds were used to fulfil the dreams of little dreamers.
The organisation plans to fulfil even more dreams and reach a new target of R8 million.
“Our call to action this year is simple,” said Julia Sotirianakos, Reach For A Dream CEO. “We ask all South Africans to rally behind us and play their part in being visible agents of change. The Foundation’s biggest goal is to have every single South African in slippers on Friday 6 May.”
Each sticker purchased goes towards the Reach For A Dream Foundation, helping children harness the power of their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses and making these dreams come true.
Tickets for the campaign can already be purchased from any Wimpy, Pick n Pay or Dischem, TOYZONE and Baby City stores or online via the Reach for a Dream website. For every sticker you purchase, you can claim a free Wimpy filter coffee on Slipper Day. Donations are also welcome; all donors will receive a Section 18A declaration for tax claims on request.
A funky range of slippers can also be bought at www.reachforadream.org.za.
Don’t forget to share your Slipper Day selfie using #slipperday2022 and #Reachforadream on your social media channels on Friday 6 May, to encourage everyone to get involved and help Reach For A Dream inspire more hope and make the dreams of children battling life-threatening illnesses come true.
