A Caledon resident has posted on her Facebook page that
Covid-19 is in town.
Her message states the virus has landed and cautions
everyone to be safe, to wear their masks and practise social distancing. She
stressed, though, that the virus was not in Bergsig or Voeltjiedorp, but in
town.
Roché Butler, spokesperson for the Overberg Department of
Health, said to protect patient confidentiality the department will not confirm
whether anyone has tested positive for Covid-19 at any facility or in a
specific town.
“Currently Theewaterskloof has two positive cases, one
recovered and one active case,” she said.
Butler urged the community to continue washing hands with
soap and water regularly, stay home whenever possible and to practise physical
distancing of at least 1,5 metres when leaving home, and wear a cloth mask as
per the national government’s instruction.
