Municipal Manager resigns

Alderlady Christelle Vosloo, Executive Mayor of Theewaterskloof Municpality, (TWK) announced this morning (Tuesday 24 March) the Municipal Manager, Gerrit Matthyse, will be parting ways with the municipality.

Theewaterskloof Municpality, (TWK) announced this morning (Tuesday 24 March)
the Municipal Manager, Gerrit Matthyse, will be parting ways with the
municipality.

Vosloo said after negotiations between Matthyse and herself,
he requested to resign with immediate effect.

“We reached a suitable agreement which both parties, the
Municipal Council and Matthyse, where after he signed.”

Vosloo used the opportunity to thank Matthyse for the work
he has done at Theewaterskloof Municipality.

Vosloo announced that Davy Louw, CFO  has been
appointed as the acting municipal manager since Monday. “He will shortly
communicate the way forward with all personnel.”

Vosloo gave the assurance that she will take the necessary
measures to effectively and efficiently prevent a leadership void. “This
municipality is highly regarded by the Auditor General, Ratings Afrika,
National Treasury and many other external ratings and evaluating organisations
and Council intends to do everything possible to keep it that way.”
