The Western Cape MEC for Health, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, together with Prof Ramneek Ahluwalia, CEO of Higher Health, an organisation that originates measure to boost health-care responsiveness in partnership with stakeholders such as the Department of Health, officially launched the West Coast College Mobile Clinic, which will take to the streets to serve the college’s student communities by making health care accessible to them. The clinic forms part of health-and-wellness awareness campaigns on campus that support students with family planning, TB screening and vaccinations, to name a few. “West Coast College believes that health is just [as] an essential part of our students and their time at the college as their academic development, and this clinic will support us to holistically develop our students who need these services,” says Rhazia Hamza, Deputy Principal: Innovation and Development of West Coast College.
