The Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun will celebrate its 12th anniversary at Houw Hoek Hotel outside Grabouw from Saturday 19 to Monday 21 March.

One of the many highlights of the iconic team trail running celebration is Dress Up Day, which will be celebrated on the third and final stage, on Monday 21 March. Race founder Michael Meyer said: “The rule is very simple, we are looking for commitment and flair, and both runners need to wear their outfits for the duration of the stage. There are awesome sponsor prizes up for grabs as well as bragging rights for a year. We challenge all entrants to let their creativity reign.”

Teams of two trail running enthusiasts (men, women or mixed) will be seen battling it out on a route varying in distances on the three days – about 24 km on stage 1, 32 km on the second stage and 18 km on the third stage.

Entry costs are from R3 600 to R4 600 per runner and it closes on Friday 11 March. Each entrant will receive a First Ascent AfricanX garment, finisher T-shirt and medal, access to the Thirsti Refreshment Zone, well stocked water points and spectacular route experiences, access to the evening prize giving and entertainment
