The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) celebrates National Blood Donor month in June.

During this month the service endeavours to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and to celebrate the remarkable act of saving lives through blood donation.

The theme for this year, “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives”, highlights the need for regular, unpaid blood donations all year round to maintain adequate blood supplies.

If you are between the ages of 16 and 75, weigh 50 kg or more, are in good general health and lead a safe sexual lifestyle, you should be able to donate.

To find your closest blood donation clinic, please download the WCBS app, send us a WhatsApp on 060 549 7244 or visit www.wcbs.org.za for more information.
