Popular, powerful and versatile entertainer Clint Cunningham and his band are back at Springbok Blues Theatre supper venue in the Gant’s Centre, Strand on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June with their new show Clint andamp; Co.
Clint and Co cover a wide spectrum of music in this show and the repertoire includes classics by Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Bad Company, the Rolling Stones, ACDC, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple and classics from Credence Clear Water Revival (CCWR) and U2.
Clint’s CCWR Tribute (over 600 shows in 10 years) has enjoyed sell-out shows at all of the Barnyards, all the major casinos and other top venues in South Africa and was performed to over 1 500 people at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena in 2008.
Clint sold more CDs than any other artist at the Carnival Symphonic Pops and from this success, Clint andamp; Co went on to perform Clint’s U2 Tribute Rattle andamp; Hum as well as shows called Joe Cocker and Friends and Rock on Safari.
The Midnight Hour ran for six months (seven shows a week) at Richard Loring’s Sound Stage in 2007 and 2008 and Thunder Struck ran for five months over two years at the Globe Theatre.
Fifteen albums down the line, Clint has a massive original repertoire including his hit song Cry Baby Cry and two successful Afrikaans to English translations.
Showstoppers include Clint’s mighty rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s Time to Say Goodbye (in Italian!), as well as a phenomenal version of Dean Martin’s Volare! and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, which is a crowd favourite and receives standing ovations at every performance.
Clint will be joined on stage by top-notch musicians, Peter Hanmer on lead guitar and backing vocals, Larry Rose on drums and Mike Dorea on bass guitar and backing vocals.
