Another weekend marked by a business robbery, this time a spaza shop in Samuel Street, Nqkubela in Robertson, which took place on Friday 25 February at 20:10.
“The owner of the shop was helping two customers who turned out to be the suspects,” said Robertson police spokesperson, WO Blackie Swart said.
“After helping them the one suspect took out a gun and demanded money. When the shop owner took too long the suspect shot him in the hip and shot at him again, but missed.” The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of money and ran off.
“Outside the shop they fired another shot, but nobody was injured,” Swart added. “The owner was taken to hospital for medical treatment. The suspects are two Sotho males.”
