The Robertson police need the help of the community in locating two hijackers.

On Thursday 3 March at 16:20 two people were busy making deliveries at U-save in Reitz Street, Robertson. “While busy at the back of the truck two unknown males grabbed them from behind and started searching them,” Robertson police spokesperson WO Blackie Swart. “They took their cellphones and forced them into the back of the truck and closed the doors.”

The hijackers then took off in the truck with the two delivery men at the back. They then stopped at an unknown location and forced open the safe that was inside the cab of the truck and took out the money.

“They drove off to Nkqubela, Robertson, where they parked the vehicle again. They stopped the truck and opened the back and told the community they can take all the stuff that was there and then walked away.”

The two suspects got away with R38 398. The stolen goods had a value of R704.

Anyone with information can contact Lt Col Russell Koeries on 023 626 8350.
